Cookie Policy
This cookie policy was last updated on 11 August 2026 and applies to users of our website https://ng-motorsports.de.
1. Introduction
By default, our website does not use any cookies before you have given your consent. We store your consent decision itself locally in your browser (localStorage), not as a cookie. Only once you agree to certain categories, or actively load an external piece of content, may cookies from external providers be set. This document explains what that means in detail.
2. What are cookies?
A cookie is a small file that is sent along with the pages of a website and can be stored by your web browser on your computer or another device. The information stored in it may be sent back to our servers, or to the servers of relevant third parties, on subsequent visits.
3. What are scripts?
A script is a piece of program code that is used to make our website function properly and interactively. This code is executed on our servers or on your device.
4. What is local storage?
Local storage is, similar to a cookie, a storage area inside your browser. Unlike a cookie, however, it is not automatically sent to a server with every request; instead it remains solely on your device until our website specifically reads it. We use it to store your consent decision (see section 5).
5. Cookies and local storage on this website
On your first visit we show you a consent banner. Your choice is stored in localStorage under the key "ng-consent", versioned, and without any personal data — it contains only your category choices. We distinguish between the following categories:
5.1 Necessary
This category is always active and stores only your consent decision in localStorage. Without this technically required storage, we would not be able to remember your consent choice, and the banner would reappear on every visit.
5.2 Statistics
This category exists in the consent banner but is currently without function: no statistics or analytics tool is currently active, and no corresponding cookies are set or data collected. Should a tool be activated in the future, we will update this section beforehand with the specific details.
5.3 External media
We embed YouTube videos (via the more privacy-friendly domain youtube-nocookie.com) and a Google Maps map. Both are initially shown only as a preview image and are loaded only after you click the preview or after you consent to the "External media" category. When loaded, data — including your IP address — is transmitted to Google; this may also set cookies from the respective provider, over whose content and scope we have no influence.
5.4 Language preference (NEXT_LOCALE)
When you explicitly switch between German and English using the language switcher, we set a strictly-necessary cookie named "NEXT_LOCALE". It is a first-party cookie of our own website, contains only your chosen language and no personal data, is never shared with third parties, and exists solely to remember your language choice on future visits so you don't have to select it again. It is only set when you actively switch the language, and falls under the "Necessary" category — it therefore cannot be disabled via the cookie settings without disabling language switching itself.
6. Managing consent
When you visit our website for the first time, we show you a banner explaining the categories described above. Using "Accept all", "Only necessary" or "Settings" you decide which categories may be loaded. You can reopen and change or withdraw your selection at any time via the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer of this website.
7. Enabling, disabling and deleting cookies
You can use your web browser to delete cookies automatically or manually. You can also specify that certain cookies should not be placed, or have your browser notify you whenever a cookie is set. For more information on these options, see the help section of your browser. Please note that our website may not function correctly if you block previously granted consents via your browser instead of changing them via "Cookie Settings" in the footer.
8. Your rights regarding personal data
To the extent that personal data such as your IP address is processed as part of the external media described above, you have the usual data subject rights under the GDPR (including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection). Details can be found in our privacy policy.
